How client privacy and sharing work
TheraBasics is private by default and visible by choice. If a client is going to trust it between sessions, the sharing model has to be obvious and in their control. It is.
The client decides
Clients choose what is shared. Sharing is opt-in, category by category and entry by entry. A client can share their mood trend but keep a journal entry to themselves, and they can change any of it later.
Private stays private
Private client-only data stays private. Anything a client has not chosen to share is not visible to you, full stop. The app is built so that nothing leaks into the dashboard by accident.
What the therapist actually sees
You see the shared categories and entries, not everything by default. The pre-session brief is assembled only from what the client chose to share, and it says so on the brief itself.
Twice this week she wrote about feeling disconnected from David, both after her mom called on Tuesday. She skipped her morning walk the three days that followed. Yoga class Saturday was the first time she laughed all week, and last night she wrote that she's dreading Monday.
- The disconnection from David, and what Tuesday's call stirred up.
- Three skipped walks, then what made Saturday feel different.
Where the data lives
TheraBasics is HIPAA-compliant, and a BAA is available for your practice. We describe the platform as HIPAA-aware and HIPAA-compliant for the protections in place today, and we are careful not to overclaim beyond that.
Every example in this help center uses synthetic data only. We never show real client entries, names, or screens in our docs.
A look at the client side, so you can trust the experience you are inviting people into: quick, low-pressure, and private by default.
