What TheraBasics is not

A tool earns trust partly by being clear about what it will not do. TheraBasics keeps a narrow scope on purpose, so it can be calm for clients and quiet for therapists.

Not chat

TheraBasics is not chat. There is no messaging thread between you and your client, and no expectation that anyone is on the other end. It will never become another inbox to keep up with.

Not crisis support

TheraBasics is not crisis support. It does not monitor for emergencies and is not a place to reach for help in a crisis. Clients are pointed to appropriate resources, and the app never stands in for them.

Not a monitoring service

TheraBasics is not a monitoring service. The dashboard is for review before a session, not constant surveillance of a client's life. You are not expected to watch it, and clients are not being watched.

Not a replacement for therapy

TheraBasics is not a replacement for therapy or clinical judgment. It supports the work between sessions. It does not do the work, and it does not make clinical decisions.

Not a homework platform

TheraBasics is not another task-heavy homework platform. A check-in takes under 30 seconds, and a missed day is never punished. The point is a small, sustainable habit, not a pile of assignments.

It is a between-session reflection and session-prep tool. That is the whole job, and keeping it that narrow is what keeps it calm.
